Dear customer, we have been forced to make big alterations to our shop policies due to the changed laws in the Dutch Opiumwet that went into effect by march 1st 2015. In case we sell products or give information to customers who intent to start a professional business setup or a largescale setup for growing cannabis we can be criminalized. These laws make us even punishable if we don’t take carefully enough measures to secure our clientele.
Growshop De Sjop chooses to limit its clientele
We have decided to continue our business but we needed to take measures to limit our clientele and we need to make sure we serve customers who use our products in a non-punishable way by the Dutch law. Notwithstanding the changed Dutch laws in regard to growing cannabis we still see possibilities to serve our limited clientele. The changes in the Opiumwet do not affect the right for growers of cannabis to provide in their personal need. We realize the majority of our clientele consists of these growers who are self-supporting therefore we expect to be able to continue our business aiming specifically at our target group.
Nieuwe new Terms and Conditions
In order to comply to the changed laws we have made changes to our Sjop. We have installed new Terms and Conditions to limit our clientele. To make sure everybody understands and agrees to our new Terms and Conditions we have put this message on our starting screen which will be repeated when you place an order. Only if you accept our new Terms and Conditions can we be of service..
Consequences for the customer
We ask all customer to agree to our new Terms and Conditions and we had to alter our range of products. Furthermore we had to put a limitation on certain products to ensure we do our business according to the changed law of the Opiumwet. In short we can only supply customers who place orders for small setups. We understand the confusion that these changed laws bring therefore we have made a factsheet available on our site to explain the essentials of non-punishable setups.
